Wireless Nomad was a non-profit cooperative based in Toronto, Canada providing subscriber-owned home and business internet along with free Wi-Fi wireless Internet access the 70+ nodes, making it one of the largest free Wi-Fi networks in the country at the time.

Now that the Apple iPad has launched, with the expected split between love-its' and hate-it's, it's interesting to look back at the launch of the original iPod and see what people thought of that device back then. Famous comments include "No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame."

Virgin Trains has teamed up with Nomad Digital to bring on-board Wi-Fi wireless Internet access for passengers on all their Super Voyager trains between both Birmingham to Scotland and London Euston to North Wales / Chester lines.

Wireles and Mobile News reports SAAB has biohybrid concept car with Sony Ericsson for seamless in-car connectivity for a range of nomadic devices with a wireless interface for streaming data, entertainment and satellite navigation functions for display and use. It has been suggested that the Sony Xperia will be able to operate car functions.
